What happens when your Ink dries up

Featured

As bizarre as it sounds, Ink can “expire” and it dries up. It all depends on the temperature, whether it is stored in cold or hot conditions. We never think to check to see if our pasta noodles have expired because we know that it usually lasts long, but regardless of how long it lasts, the quality of the pasta is not so great over some time. Like pasta noodles, Inks and Toners can last up to a very long time. They carry preservatives that make the shelf life last much longer. You can expect Toners to last longer than Ink, as with Toners the electro-magnetic process in laser printers is more precise.

Ink Cartridges dry up slow. Therefore, it is best to print out your documents when you know the Ink is still wet. For any reason you may find that the quality of your prints are going bad, it is because the wet ink is drying up and you have parts that are wet and you have parts that are dry. If it is too dry than, the print job will not go through.

Ink Cartridge

Your cartridges should be stored in good conditions. If they are, then they should still be able to work after the “expiration date” has passed. The best way to take care of your printer cartridges is to have your cartridges stored upright so that the sponge stays moist and in a sealed airtight container. As obvious as it may sound, keep your cartridges away from sunlight! Your cartridges have many very harmful chemicals and you don’t want to risk dealing with any possible hazards from this. So if you’re storing them somewhere, it should be stored in a dark space like a cabinet or drawer.

Money Back or Exchange Warranty at InknTonerUK

Although you can save by purchasing from e-retailers like eBay, it’s important to be certain you can use them. Also, equally important, making sure they’re not faulty. Your printer should let you know if there is something wrong with your Ink or Toner cartridges. It is always safer to buy from a reliable Ink shop. With InknToner UK, you are promised quality Originals and Compatible Inks and ‘Money Back or Exchange Warranty’ on your products.

The Money Back or Exchange Warranty allows you to receive warranty within 6 months when you purchase our products. That’s including compatibles! All of the products you are returning must be discussed with us prior. All returns have to be in their relevant packaging and include a note, which states your order number. It is important to also note down if you would prefer an exchange or a refund.

Even though warranty is available, it’s still important to take proper care of your Inks. It will have a longer shelf life and there will be less of a hassle to deal with for you.

We hope we’ve informed you enough about what to do when ink dries and how to avoid ink drying. If your or someone else you know ink dries again and you don’t know or remember what to do, you know where to find this Blog Post!

Transfer Fabric Paper

Featured

With Christmas just around the corner, this time of year has everyone running around whilst spending time with their families and picking out the best Christmas outfits to wear. Of course, let us not forget the most exciting thing about Christmas is… decorating your Christmas trees/homes, and of course buying and unwrapping your gifts! A common issue people usually face during Christmas is what gift others with. It can be difficult to decide on what the best gift to get someone can be, especially with the year(s) we have had battling the pandemic and all. It has been one of the hardest years for us all, social distancing and being further away from our loved ones. However, I’ve found a fun way for you to reconnect and enjoy this time with your family AND create cool Christmas shirts using Transfer Fabric Paper.

What is Transfer Fabric Paper?

Transfer Paper or ‘T-shirt paper’ is used with text or imagery to transfer onto fabric. It can be used on anything like tablecloths, pillowcases, bags and obviously shirts. In this case, we would use it for Christmas jumpers and sweaters. For reference, transfer paper is used by 100% cotton, polyester and poly/cotton blends. You have to make sure that you transfer everything correctly, as they can last an amazingly long time.

You can add on any design you would like but if you cannot think of any, let me help you out with these super cool designs!

The Aftercare

Remember! You can print these images anywhere on the jumper/sweater. The front, the back or both. Printing on fabric means it is washable too! Therefore, you can keep using this method to create amazing new designs every year and save your coin! If you want, you can create funny jumpers or t-shirts as gifts for your family this Christmas.

Remember if you want to wash, your prints then make sure that you wait 24 hours and before doing so turn them inside out. Make sure that the water temperature is mild. The best thing I can suggest after washing them is not to twist or try to drain the excess water out. If you want them then at the best quality tumble-drying would be best. You want them to dry quicker than hanging them up. If you keep washing it, the images on your Christmas jumper might come out as stiff, to fix this, simply use silicon paper and re-iron the image.

I hope this blog has helped you think of creative ways to go about this years Christmas!

Guy Fawkes Mask (Print Out Now!)

Featured

What is Guy Fawkes and why is the 5th of November a memorable day?

The Gunpowder Plot was a scheme to kill King James I by a group of Catholics (Guy Fawkes being one of them) to restore the Catholic Monarchy in the UK. Guy Fawkes had the responsibility to deal with the explosives however; it was a failed attempt due to Fawkes being caught with Gunpowder under the House of Lords.

You may have seen many people wearing the famous Guy Fawkes mask on this important day to commemorate the occasion. We have the best Guy Fawkes mask template available for you and your friends/family to enjoy.

Guy Fawkes Mask

You can print this mask off in black and white or colour if you prefer. In addition, if you’re on a budget or want to save money, you can use compatible Inks for your printer. They perform just as well as originals. It is also better to do so for the environment. Now that you have your Inks, you need to pair this with a good quality printer. I’ll list some printers so you can get to print the best quality masks, but also the pros and cons!

  1. Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850

PROS: Terrific printing quality and Excellent Mobile Connectivity Options

CONS: Quite a pricey printer

  • Brother HL-L6400DW

PROS: Fast Printing, Excellent Graphics and Photos, Small and Light to carry, Generous Paper Capacity, Low Cost Compared to other printers and High volume ratings.

CONS: No USB Memory Drive Support

  • HP Tango X

PROS: Small and Manageable, has Voice Control and perfect for smart homes, an impressive print quality

CONS: Small paper input, Scans and Copies can only be done via smartphones.

Now that you understand which inks to use and what the best printers to print your masks are, you’ll need:

A pair of scissors (Use sensibly or ask anyone to assist you),

Paper, your printer or printer of your choice,

A hole puncher or the use of your scissors to punch holes into it,

Lastly a string or a rubber band to wrap behind your ears.

We also have different printing papers for you (e.g. glossy or matte). You can also potentially visit your local library/a friend’s house to save money. I recommend buying a regular A4 paper from our website as we sell good quality paper. Once you have your mask printed and cut out, make sure to use A4 paper to punch holes on the eyes and edge of the mask. You can then attach the rubber band, elastic band or string to the holes on the side of the mask and you are all done!
