Steven Moffat turns 54 today! Happy Birthday from Ink n Toner UK!

If you don’t know who the great Steven Moffat is, have you been living under a rock for the last 5 years? Steven William Moffat, OBE, is a television producer and writer from Scotland, who is most commonly known for his work as writer and producer of the BBC shows Sherlock and Doctor Who.

If you haven’t seen either of these shows, I highly recommend both.

Before Moffat replaced Russell T Davies as showrunner, lead writer and exec. producer of Doctor Who in 2010, he wrote six episodes since the shows revival in 2005. These were some of the most popular and famous episodes from the series: these include “The Empty Child”, “The Girl in the Fireplace”, “Silence in the Library”, and “Blink”.

In 2010, the same year Moffat took over Doctor Who, he created Sherlock along with Mark Gatiss, who plays Mycroft in the show.

Along with writing these two fantastic shows, Moffat also co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn with Steven Spielberg in 2011.

Moffat has also won several awards, mostly for Doctor Who and Sherlock.

To celebrate the birth of this incredible writer, who has given us these amazing shows, why not print out a Doctor Who or Sherlock poster to post up around your house… I know we will.
