Yesterday, fans across the globe fan-boyed and fan-girled as we saw the release of the official poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, coming to cinemas this December, and here at Ink n Toner UK, we’re over the moon.

As someone who grew up with a father obsessed with Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who, I am incredibly excited for the new Episode coming out in a couple months.

Fans across the world have taken to twitter to discuss the official poster, which features a brand new planet-shaped object that we have never seen before, which bears a striking resemblance to the Death Star. This causes me and other fans to believe that this could be a new weapon, maybe something as extreme as a planet destroyer.

Another thing that should be noted about the new poster is the absence of Luke Skywalker and the presence of three new characters (Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron), who dominate the poster.

Harrison Ford, who returns as Han Solo, is also featured on the poster besides Carrie Fisher, who returns as Princess Leia, but this time without her trademark hair buns.

On the poster we also see the return of lovable characters such as R2-D2, C-3PO and Chewbacca.

The full trailer will be screened tonight during Monday Night Football on ESPN!
