Why so few pages covered compared with other ink cartridges

Not a short answer. Basically the cheaper the printer the more expensive the cartridges. When the printer is cheap the manufacturer makes their money back on the cartridges. When the printer is not so cheap the cartridges are much better value.

What printer would require the. Heapest ink?

Hello. Not an easy answer i'm afraid. Basically the more you pay for a printer the cheaper the ongoing running cost will be, so our advice is for you spend as much as you can on a printer. The best thing to do is to find 2 or 3 machines that you like and call us and we will then tell you which one is best to go for based on the ongoing cost.
