Our Guidelines for World Environment Day 2014

As we celebrated World Environment Day yesterday, how many of you took some actions and started to become more eco-friendly?

What is World Environment Day? Run by the UNEP, this day is celebrated every year on the 5th of June to make people aware to take positive actions to protect the world and nature.

Printing is essential to everyday life and requires you to use paper, ink or toner to print pages after pages. On an average one employee will print 31 pages in their office. There are some simple measures that you can take to make printing more eco-friendly and efficient, if you follow the guidelines below. If you follow our guidelines then you will be pleased to know that you are making a positive contribution to the nature and the environment, helping to save Planet Earth for future generations.

Choose Higher Yields Cartridges

If you choose high capacity cartridges for your ink or toner supplies, the benefit is that you get more pages to print than standard yield and plus it works out to be cheaper as well.

For example The Brother TN3330 Standard Capacity Black Toner Cartridge gives you 3,000 Pages for average market price of £62, while the Brother TN3380 High Capacity Black Toner Cartridge gives you almost triple that; giving you 8,000 Pages for approx price of £96. If you buy the Brother TN3390 Super High Capacity Black Toner Cartridge, then it gives you a massive 12,000 Pages for a fantastic price of approx £108. You can see which one is a better offer.

I hear you saying how does this save the environment? Well simple, if you buy a cartridge that lasts much longer then you would reduce the amount of cartridges that you dispose of in a year, so that means less cartridges are being emptied out into harmful landfill sites.

So next time buying ink or toner cartridges for your printer, check to see if high capacity, extra high capacity (also referred to as super high capacity) is offered for your printer.

Choose Multi-Pack Deals

At inkntoneruk we offer multi-packs, twin packs and even triple packs for both inks and toners.

For example the Samsung SCX-4216D3 Black Toner Cartridge is both offered as a twin pack as well as a triple pack. An example of a multi-pack that we offer is the Brother TN-230 Toner Cartridge Multi-Pack which comes with a Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow toner included in the pack.

Buying multi-packs means that it is delivered to you in one package, rather than sending you supplies out in different postages and packages with more paperwork attached to it. You reduce the need for unnecessary paperwork and packaging.

Choose Compatibles and Re-fills Options

This is probably the best way to help minimise your need to replace your toner or ink cartridges. Refill is only offered to most ink cartridges. If you refill your ink cartridges, not only you save by far a huge amount of money, but you minimise the need to throw away your empty cartridges.

For example at inkntoneruk we offer Budget Refills for the Canon MG3150 Ink Cartridges e.g. Canon PG-540XL High Capacity Black Ink Cartridge that only costs approx £10 whereas the Canon originals is dearer, costing you £17. You will never have to throw away your ink cartridges just keep recycling them.

Recycling is the most crucial action you can take to protect nature. Next time don’t throw away your empty ink cartridges but give us a call on 0208 216 5571 or visit inkntoneruk.co.uk and see if we offer refills for your ink cartridges (if not we can most of the time offer budget compatibles or re-filled inks for your printer).

We also offer Budget and Premium compatible toner cartridges that are much cheaper than buying the original manufactured toners.

For example we sell the HP Laserjet Pro 400 MFP (M425 Series) Toner Cartridges that are ridiculously cheap. The budget compatibles will only cost you £21, the premium compatibles will cost you £58 – still cheap. BUT if you go for the HP originals it will cost you £128 (although it’s expensive for the originals, we can proudly say that we are still cheaper than any other retailers that sell cartridge consumables).

Buying compatibles or re-manufactured toner cartridges for your printer is a much better environmental choice because you are using recycled products that can be re-used over a long period of time and also you save between 20 to 50% of the cost.

Recycle your Cartridges

Don’t throw away your empty cartridges, send them to us and we can start recycling your inkjet cartridges. You will be doing your bit for the environment and making a difference.

When you buy from us you will receive a freepost envelope for you to send your empty cartridges. However please note that only certain inkjet cartridges can be recycled and reused as inkjet cartridges again. For more details on recycling your empties or if you want to send your empty inkjet cartridges now or you have any questions, you can email us at contact@inkntoneruk.co.uk.

It’s your choice to make the difference. Even though the above suggestions seem small, every small change makes a difference and will have a huge impact to the environment if everyone followed in the same steps. Have a peace of mind and educate others so that World Environment Day isn’t just for one day, make people aware to preserve the environment every day. You live in this world, so take care of it.

Yours sincerely;
