Laser Printers – The End?

Well maybe not but it would seem that manufactures like HP and Epson are taking a step in that direction with their releases of their Epson WorkForce WP4000 series and HP Officejet Pro 8100 series. These inkjet printers give laser printing performance at a greater cost-efficiency than comparable laser printers.

Both printer series consumables range give toner cartridge yields in an ink cartridge at a lower unit cost to a comparable laser printer. They also have fast, laser speed printing and come with a host of I.T functions to boot.

It would seem that nowadays you can get laser quality printing and cost-efficiency in a smaller device. Why pay £40 for 2000 pages on a toner cartridge when you could pay £25? For those of you who print in colour the savings should evident with a £15 saving on one cartridge alone. Not to mention the actual unit cost of these new printers by HP and Epson are comparatively low when compared to their laser counterparts which have a similar spec.

Epson Workforce Pro WP-4000 Series

Epson’s Workforce Pro 4000 series is designed to give business laser quality printing performance and print quality at a much cheaper cost per print from an inkjet printer. It has all the most important functions which would you expect from a business type printer and is an ideal alternative to laser printing.

HP Officejet Pro 8100 Series

HP have gone along a similar route as Epson with their officejet pro 8100 printer series. These printers also give laser quality text and printing performance at a significantly lower cost-per-print. These printers are also more energy efficient by about 50% than laser printers.
