The new machine is far from your average printer and it shows, when you consider that the dimensions of the Epson printer are width 2,620‎ x depth 1,259 x  high 1,311. It weighs a massive 219 kg but size is not the only big figure concerning the Epson monster printer.  The starting cost price of one of these machines is whopping £14,000.

These printers have also been released in Asia and the managing director Endo Koichi of Epson said:

“This year is the 20th anniversary of Epson’s Micro Piezo Technology and we are very excited with the launch of the Epson SureColor F-series as it brings the power and quality of our Micro Piezo print-head to the fabric printing industry.”

“With the strong fashion industry in region that is still growing rapidly, we are confident of strong sales performance for these two models because of the high quality and cost effectiveness they offer customers.”

Mr Endo has stressed the importance of Micro Piezo technology which is one of the biggest factors that makes this Monster Machine special.

New Wide Format Epson Printers

Introduction

Seiko Epson corporation known to most of us as Epson, is an absolute monster in the printing industry. Originally started in 1943 as watch making company Epson evolved as time went by into a corporation that manufactures printers, cartridges, projectors, televisions and even robots etcetera (the list is endless). Recently, the Japanese company have decided to extend their market even further by attacking the wide format printing industry for science and engineering fields. Their aim is to get at least 20 percent of the wide format printing market in the next few years.

SureColor SC-T7000, SC-T5000 and SC-T3000 Printers

Allow me to introduce the SureColor SC-T7000 (pictured below), SC-T5000 and SC-T3000 printers, that has been specifically designed to meet the needs of architects. The piano looking-like printing devices will print on coated and non-coated material printing up to 1118 mm, 914 mm and 640 mm wide prints in sharp as a “dagger” quality.

Epson-sct7000
Epson-sct7000

Epson’s Business account manager all the way from South Africa Vernon Mellors has commented by saying “Since the 90’s the focus point has been almost exclusively on the photographic, fine art and commercial printing. The company has never built a product that’s been geared specifically for engineering, architecture and construction space, as the timing wasn’t right”

Mellors was being honest about Epson’s approach to the market and continued to say “Three years ago, we took a look at this specialised sector again and realised that we had the technology to build on the feedback we received in our research and create a printing solution specifically tailored to the needs of these professionals”

This is a great move by Epson and every company or corporation should follow their example by maximising their resources and taking maximum advantage of the available research in order to keep expanding.

Epson SureColor SC-T7000 Printer Review

It is quite obvious that the SC-T7000 will hold a substantially high price tag and the price of £3,540 is not surprising at all. Considering the size, quality and purpose of the printer this is actually a low price as there are many normal laserjets that cost a thousand or two.

Now that we have the price out of the way, we can concentrate on the functionality and quality. The SC-T7000 is easy to set up and to navigate as you would expect from any Epson device. The printer’s operations are carried out from the front, allowing the user to be in control at all times. With the maximum size of 44 inch prints you could easily print a couple of prints and have your house redecorated with your favourite wallpapers. That’s how cool this printer actually is. The unique Epson Micro Piezo will ensure high graphics of 2880 x 1440 dpi and will allow smooth printings for architectural designs, posters and presentations.

Epson

Just take a minute and have a quick look at the prices above. The original Black Epson T0711 costs £9.98, which is decent but, if you look just a bit to the left, you will the the Premium Compatible price and it is only £2.29!!!! That is staggeringly low.

Unseen savings like these are unseen to a regular consumer because, they ether heard rumours that compatibles are bad or had 1 or 2 bad experiences with them and never looked back again. Now, don’t get me wrong, of course the compatible ink cartridge prints are slightly less sharp and you might get an odd faulty cartridge, but most of the time they are perfectly fine and to be honest, there are not much of a difference between the two. In this case, the fact is that the compatibles ink cartridges are four times cheaper and that’s why the Epson T0711 holds the title of the cheapest ink cartridges.

At the end of the day, it is a choice you have to make whether you want to save lots of money and buy the compatibles but get an odd problem here or there or you can buy the pricier originals and not worry about anything going wrong. The decision is yours.

HP

Last but not least on our list are the HP cheapest ink cartridges. As you can see for these cartridges you even have 3 choices. You can go for the Budget, Premium or the Original ones. Budget cartridges are refilled and we can also refill them for you, if you send in your used ink cartridges to us with our free post (Read more). However the best choice is definitely the premium compatibles as they guarantee the best value for money.

The original HP 300 ink cartridge cost is fair £11.85 but the if you look again to the options available to you more to the left, you’ll discover cheapest ink cartridges at the price of 6.99 for refill and premium. Keep in mind that you also get high capacity ink cartridges because they have maximum ink in them, so not only you paying twice less but you are also receiving twice as much ink in return!!!

Conclusion

Firstly, I will be the first one to say this “the compatibles are not for everyone”. If you have your big business which depends on highest quality prints and you simply cannot afford an odd faulty ink cartridge, or, furthermore, maybe you just simply can’t stand the idea of any problem that would cause the cartridge to be replaced. Then, obviously the compatibles are not for you, but if you are a SOHO user or just print occasionally and you are prepared to be a bit more patient if necessary, then you will be able to take advantage of the cheapest ink cartridges and save huge amounts of money in the long run.

WorkForce Pro from Epson – “Laser Killer”

Epson WorkForce Pro series InkJet printers are better, than most LaserJet printers.

When it comes to choosing a printer, a lot of things has to be considered, especially if you have large workloads. Cost per page (CPP), is by far the most vital statistic to consider when buying any printer, as this will determine the total cost of ownership (TCO). So far, LaserJet printers that use toner cartridges, where the leading printers for medium and large businesses. With toner cartridges being more expensive, than ink cartridges, there was a gap in the industry for someone to develop a printer that would take cheaper ink cartridges but the quality and printing speed would stay the same or even better. Epson decided to take on the challenge and successfully developed Epson WorkForce Pro InkJet printers that print faster, than most of the LaserJet printers, while maintaining the quality that of a LaserJet.

Epson “Laser Killer”

The reason why you can call the Epson printer “laser killer” is because it is!!!

Epson WorkForce Pro Printer

Epson proved that the new printers are faster than LaserJet for half of the cost by running few tests. They compared simplex and duplex for Epson 4535 DWF against Hp colour LaserJet M175A and Brother 9120CN printers respectively. The Epson inkjet printer took only 27 seconds to print 4 pages, Brother 9120CN finished second and printed 4 pages in 44 seconds while Hp colour LaserJet M175A printed its first page after 27 seconds and finished third. After the test it was clear that the competitive LaserJet printers lost to InkJet giving the right to call Epson 4535 DWF – “Laser Killer”. Keep in mind that InkJet will consume 80% energy making it an extremely economical all round printer.

The following printers have been designed and released by Epson helping you to save money and energy. If you want to save more on Epson ink cartridges, you can buy cheap genuine Epson ink cartridges and compatibles at Ink’n’TonerUK.

Best Value Ink Cartridges And Printers

We seem to be getting more and more people asking us for advice these days on which cartridges and printers are good value for money. So we thought we’d put down some ideas for our loyal customers.

General pointers.

  • Avoid choosing a printer which takes cartridges which incorporate a printhead in the cartridges design. (inkjet cartridges)
  • Avoid choosing a printer with only takes one colour cartridge and choose printers which take individual cartridges for each colour. (Ink tank cartridges)
  • Try to steer away from the cheaper £30 -£50 printers because the cartridges are expensive. Replacing a set of cartridges can cost more than the cost of these cheap printers. The more you spend on a printer the better value for money your cartridges will be.
  • Avoid Lexmark and Dell. These printers and cartridges represent very poor value for money, with expensive cartridges and poor build quality on consumables such as printheads and ink formulations.
  • If your printing is for the home or small office use compatibles as they are much cheaper and produce good printing results.
  • Calculate your cost-per-print by diving the pages a cartridge produces by the cost. If it’s a colour printer add up all your inks and divide by the page yield of only one cartridge not them all.

Good Value For Money InkJet Printers

  • Start off by finding the right cartridges first before you choose your printer and then see what printers the cartridges take.

Generally any printer which takes the cartridges mentioned above will give you good quality prints at the right price for home or small office printing. These cartridges are all available as compatible and give you good quality printing at a heavily discounted cost.

Five Considerations before buying Home/Small Office Printers

Today’s Blog Post contains five considerations for you to think about when buying a printer for your home use or for use at a small office. Even for the pros choosing the right printer can be difficult these days as the market is saturated with many printers that are very similar at every level of price point. One of the main pitfalls we see is customers who buy very cheap inkjet printers and later on are shocked at the high cost of their replacement ink cartridges. This is very common and easily done as it’s easy to lure in customers by the low cost of some printers.

To avoid this pitfall check the cost of replacement ink cartridges before you buy any printer. One good method of pointing in the right direction is to search for good value for money ink cartridges first and then see what printers they are compatible with.

We came up with this list of five pointers to help our customers make the right choice when buying a new printer and get the best value for money with their printing needs.

1) What are the minimal requirements and functions you require

The first of five considerations. With so many features and functions found on modern multifunction inkjet printers, these days choosing a printer can be tough. To help make your decision easier firstly decide on the minimum requirements you need for your new printer. On top of basic functions like copy, scan and print, determine if you need anything else like the ability to send documents via fax or email. We recommend these functions for any office printer. You’ll need a network compatible printer if you want to use your printer on other computers in your house / office and you should also determine if you need colour printing or not. Answering these questions will help narrow down your choices and help you find the right printer and ink cartridges for your needs.

2) The initial layout and running costs

Printing costs can run up over time and doing some quick math on ink cartridge page yields and cost of your ink cartridges will help you get a feel for your printers running costs. Once you do the maths you will probably find that the more expensive printers usually have much lower running costs than the cheap ones. You should look at your printer as an investment, this is probably something you are going to be using everyday in an office setting and it can incur expensive running costs if you don’t get it right.

3) Performance

One of the most important things to consider after cost is performance. You will be amazed at how quickly you can be frustrated by slow printing speeds and clumsy designs which will make you feel like you have waited an age for a single sheet to be printed. The same goes for scanning and copying speeds, and is especially relevant in office settings where you do not have the luxury of spare time. Print quality is normally very good on modern inkjet printers but we recommend HP, Brother and Epson ink cartridges for anyone who wants to get the best printing results.

4) Independent reviews and product information

To get the low down on the model you’re considering buying try looking at reviews published by testing agencies who perform independent and unbiased reviews on products tested. Be careful of some positive online reviews as some manufacturers actually commission them themselves to give a good impression of their product and make you want to buy it.

5) Warranties and service packages available

Last, but not least, number five. Consider how often you will be using your printer, how important it will be to your home or office and the amount of years you will require its services for. This should give you a good insight into the level of service required and additional running costs that may arise. Keeping any printer in tip top condition over the course of its lifespan is going to take more than ink cartridges or paper and you should look at manufactures warranties and additional service packages which may come with your printer before purchasing. Consumables like printheads and waste toners can also take time to order from the manufacturer so this should also come into consideration if they are available for your printer.

Five Considerations before buying Home/Small Office Printers

Dell vs Epson

Today, we’ll be facing two more giants against each other, like we did last week. Lexmark vs HP were compared last week, this week, however, it’s Dell vs Epson. Let’s get started.

Dell vs Epson

When choosing a printer, one of the most important things to take into consideration is the cost per page. Most people when buying a printer select one on the basis of the price of the hardware not how much it’s going to cost them to maintain the printer during the time that it’s owned. This article provides you with some examples of the different cost’s of consumables.

Some printer manufactures try to provide value for money with their consumables whereas others just care about making the maximum amount of money they can from you the consumer.

These examples show how you can save money over time and show how you should use careful consideration to what you’re buying.

Differences in Price – Dell vs Epson

You can see that with both Dell and Epson printers, paying a bit more for your printer will give you much better running costs and help you save in the long run. This is a general rule to consider when buying any printer. An increase in the cost of a printer usually results in a lower cost per page, higher page yield (better cost-efficiency) and is much better than buying than a printer as cheaply as possible. The print quality from more expensive machines will also be better as well as its features, functions and connectivity.

Save… EVEN MORE!

Another way of saving with your printing supplies is by buying your ink cartridges from a reputable and reliable retailer such as ourselves. Inkntoneruk stock a massive range of ink and toner cartridges for most printers. Why not click on this link and see how much you can save with your printing needs?

Epson Connect – Mobile & Cloud Print Services

On top of the host of remote printing solutions like Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint, Epson have now introduced their solution named Connect. Connect is compatible with, surprisingly, Epson printers. Connect is a broader name which encompasses two mobile print services by Epson. They are Epson iPrint and Epson Email Print.

Now you can print remotely with your Epson ink cartridges no matter how far you are away. The quality of printing will remain the same even when printing long distances from your Epson printer. There is a broad range of Epson ink cartridges and printers available to use with Epson Connect. With Epson Connect you can print using your Smart Phone, PC tablet, Imac or laptop. Epson Connect gives you the freedom to use your Epson ink cartridges and printer wherever you are. Now you can take a photograph when you’re out and about and print remotely with your Epson ink cartridges.

Epson Connect gives you the power to print from any location which has an internet connection. If your around the house you can use Epson iPrint which uses a wireless localised network and not the internet to print with. This is ideal if you’re sitting on the sofa, in the kitchen, upstairs etc. Epson iPrint lets you connect to your printer wirelessly with your smart phone, tablet pc etc and print using your Epson ink cartridges. In order to use Epson iPrint on your smartphone you must download the free App for it.

Epson iPrint

IPrint is a wireless network connection which will work inside your house and maybe a little bit outside it (if you’re lucky). You can print with your smart phone, tablet pc, mobile computer and still get the best results from your Epson ink cartridges. Just be sure to download the App to make it work!

Epson Email Print

Epson Email print uses a unique email address which is assigned to your printer, very similar to having a dedicated Fax number. It works by sending whatever you want to print to that email address and then it will automatically print from your Epson printer and ink cartridges.

If you’re looking to replace your ink cartridges for your Epson printer why not have a look here and see how much you can save when you take care of your printing needs at inkntoneruk.

6% Increase In UK Printer Sales From Last Year

What?

Context – a market research group have released figures which show printer sales within the UK are up 6% from the third quarter of last year. Growth increased mainly within the all-in-one inkjet market with an increase of 9.5% in sales standing out from the rest of the UK figures. Furthermore, this could partly be explained by the new line of inkjet printers designed to take on the role of laser printers with improved cost-efficiency. Released this year by manufacturers like HP and Epson, their marketing was targeted at educating customers about the improved cost-efficiency and performance of these machines when compared to that of their laser counterparts. The ink cartridges for these machines also feature toner like page yields and have a much lower unit cost.

European Sales Down

The increase in UK printer sales was in stark contrast to that of its European counterparts which mostly reported negative growth, most notably in Greece with a massive -35.1% and Spain at -6.1%. Only Germany reported an increase in sales which were a measly 1%.

Market Leaders

44% of all inkjet and laser printers sales in Europe were made by the market leader HP. The second largest figure came from Canon at 21.4% who were up an impressive 19.1% from the previous year. HP have flooded the market with low cost ink cartridges tailored for SOHO printing (small office home office). Canon have also introduced their new line of ink cartridges which give lab quality results.

Increased Sales Outside Of Europe

Central Asia saw huge increases in the amount of laser multifunction printers bought. So did the Middle East which saw an increase in demand for copier based multi-function devices. Africa also saw an increase of sales in both inkjet and laser printer sales. Users outside of Europe will be frustrated. Why? Cartridges bought within Europe won’t work on any printer outside of Europe. This is due to the five different coding zones which prohibit printer cartridges working in different continents.
