Print a House with 3D Printer

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the future of 3D Printing. The 3D printing technology has been improving rapidly in the last couple of years and a lot of interesting objects have been already printed, such as motorbikes, guns, dresses and even cheeseburgers! But we bet you didn’t expect to 3D Print…. A HOUSE?!

The House and the Dimensions

The possibilities are endless and that is why, it makes sense to print an endless house! Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars is planning to print a house using huge D-shape 3D printer, printing 6 x 9 meter pieces at each time and then assembling them together.

The house will be a circle shape and will have floors that transform into ceilings, with 1 entrance and 1 exit in each room, making it an “endless house”.

3D Printed House

This project is due to start in 2014 and should take an estimated one year and six months to complete.

Janjaap Ruijssenaars Comments

When asked about the design of the house this is what Janjaap Ruijssenaars had to say: “We analysed that the essence of landscape is that it has no beginning or ending, so it’s continuous, not only the fact the world is round but also water goes into land, valleys into mountains, it’s always continuous.”

Ruijssenaars has hinted where his inspiration came from when he commented:

“The great thing about the printer is that you can take it somewhere and then print with the ground you find on location”

“So you could take the printer to the moon, assemble it there and print with moon material.”

It is fascinating to know, that our future generations will be printing houses just by pressing a single button and possibly printing houses on the moon with the new extraordinary 3D printer technology.

Here at Ink’n’TonerUK we cannot offer you 3D cartridges just yet, but we can offer low cost ink cartridges and low cost toner cartridges for you to print your 3D house plans, so when the time is right, you will have the plans handy to print your own 3D home.
