While self refilling your ink cartridges may be an attractively cost-effective way of taking care of your printing needs, there are many pitfalls and circumstances which depend on its success. Inktank cartridges are not included here.

1) Vacuum Conditions

You have to fill ink cartridges under vacuum conditions, if you don’t it creates air bubbles inside the cartridge. When this happens the ink gets blocked and the ink cartridge will not work.

2) Quality of the ink.

If you refill a inkjet cartridge yourself you’ll probably be buying poor quality ink which won’t give good printing results. We use high quality German ink manufactured by a company called OCP. The ink we use has a very similar test result to original ink cartridges.

3) Getting the ink cartridges to work.

Once an ink cartridge has been filled you need to feed ink into its printhead ready for printing. This is done by a special machine which uses suction to draw ink directly to the inkjet cartridge printhead.

While you don’t need specialist remanufacturing equipment to fill an ink cartridge it certainly helps. 5) Age of the cartridges you are filling
