Ink Cartridges – How are they made?

Featured

InknTonerUK sells many products, many of which are ink cartridges. But what processes do our ink cartridges go through before they get to our clients? Find out in this Blog!

The Manufcaturing Process of Ink Cartridges

Ink cartridges are usually made by injecting ink into a plastic or metal shell that has been molded to fit the specifications of a particular printer model. The process of making an ink cartridge typically involves the following steps:

  1. Design and molding: The first step in making an ink cartridge is to design the cartridge and create a mold that will be used to form the plastic or metal shell. This mold is typically created using computer-aided design (CAD) software and a 3D printer, and it is designed to match the dimensions and shape of the printer for which the cartridge will be used.
  2. Injection molding: Once the mold is created, it’s used to inject molten plastic/metal into the shape of the cartridge shell. This process is typically done using an injection molding machine. It’s a machine that heats the material to high temperatures and injects it into the mold under high pressure.

3. Assembly: After the cartridge shell is molded, it’s typically assembled with other components like a print head, ink reservoirs etc. The print head is responsible for spraying ink onto the page, while reservoirs hold ink used by the print head. Electronic components may also include sensors, microprocessors, and other components that help the printer communicate with the cartridge and control operations.

4. Filling: Once the cartridge has been assembled, it is typically filled with ink. This is done by injecting the ink into the ink reservoirs using a filling machine. The ink is usually supplied to the filling machine in large containers, and it’s typically mixed with other ingredients such as solvents and pigments to achieve desired properties.

5. Testing: After the cartridge has been filled, it’s typically tested to ensure proper functioning and it meets required quality standards. This also may involve testing print quality, checking for leaks or defects, and verifying that it’s compatible with a specific printer.

6. Packaging: Once the cartridge has been tested and approved, it is typically packaged for shipping. This may also involve sealing cartridges and labeling them with product information, like the model number etc.

Blase Day with InknTonerUK!

Featured

Today, a strange event is taking place. Many people around the world are celebrating Blase Day, an annual event. How?

Blase Day releases negative emotions and opens up a door for people to feel displeasure with things they find unimpressive.

The name of this odd celebration originates from the French word ‘blase’. Someone described as ‘blase’ is difficult to impress and indifferent to things (usually because they have experienced them before. For example, they have already had many interesting and exciting life experiences). So a ‘blase’ person is difficult to impress and harder to please. The French word has been used to name this day because of the ties it has to the French who can be identified as quite ‘blase’ at times, since they have a very rich culture and are no longer often impressed by artwork or other aspects of culture. This makes this day very suitable for people who adopt this distinct mindset.

The Day comes from the French word 'blase'.

Being blase does not mean someone is unenthusiastic or rude, but rather being less expressive with emotions and not as dramatic.

Celebrating Blase Day

Celebrate today by being blase yourself! Today, you don’t need to fake enthusiasm in things you have no interest in. It’s a perfect way to complain about things you find unimpressive.
