HP OfficeJet 150 Mobile Printer

There is no end to innovation and HP has proved it again why they are the “boss” when you need to manufacturer a printer or cheap ink cartridge of the highest quality. HP’s stockholders have recently pressured the HP chairman Ray Lane to resign successfully due to disappointing financial growth. However, HP corporation as a whole continues to thrive despite 13 billion euros setback and released a portable HP OfficeJet 150 printer.

HP OfficeJet 150

HP took it to another level when they have released the OfficeJet device because nothing like that has been designed previously. We did have mobile scanners but a portable printer that can scan, print, and copy is quite extraordinary. You might think “why would anyone need such device?” but it wouldn’t have been released if there wasn’t a market and demand for it. According to HP the first portable all-in-one printer in the world will be useful to “business professionals who need compact, durable solution for printing, scanning and copying while on the go”

The OfficeJet 150 is relatively small which is something that you would expect from a mobile device but still it is not as compact to carry around like laptop for instance. It works with a built-in Bluetooth enabling the end-user to connect from tablet or a smartphone to complete required tasks. Additionally, it has a battery which will last for around 500 pages once charged to the maximum. It goes without saying that it will include Google Cloud-print and Apple air-print. The OfficeJet 150 will have 3.5 inch touch screen to control all the functions in style. The most impressive part of this machine is that it is pretty fast too, producing printing speeds of 20 pages per minute is not something you would expect from a device that you can carry wherever you please.

HP technology used for Medication

Click Here To Go To Inkntoneruk

The biggest corporation in the printing industry HP is not snoozing and is expanding into other industries as well. The latest move by HP is to help the production of medication. Scientists will be able to take advantage of HP device that has been developing for 10 years to create medication. This is slightly different area than HP toner cartridges for HP printers, but the technology used will be very similar.

The device was developed using HP Officejet Pro X’s printhead, which accommodates over 42,000 nozzles. The main reason why the device is necessary is due to repetition and human error involved in medication production. It works by dropping droplets of chemicals into tiny sliding containers saving hours and hours of the painful process.

Joe Dody, Business manager of speciality Printing Systems for HP said:

“We imagined the application and we worked with customers to convince ourselves and the industry that we were creating value in doing it, so we gained support from HP to make a business out of it.”

“A researcher applies between 200,000 to a million drops of the compound to test against the disease target and they hope that 10,000 are actually hits. Then they can determine what’s common between molecules and what’s the dose at which these drug molecules are causing a positive interaction with disease.”

The HP device could potentially save up to 95% of work, billions of dollars and years of medication development processes. Printers are designed to spit out ink from printheads and HP’s Direct Digital Dispenser (D300) will do exactly that. Except instead of the ink, the D300 will be dropping desired substance drops, allowing the scientists to test many different substance variations saving time and increasing the chances of discovering even greater medication.

This is a perfect example of technology helping us to achieve more. It’s inspiring and equally surprising to see, that printer technology is helping and improving lives.

The machine took years to develop but it seems that it was worth it in the end.

Dody stated: “If you didn’t find a solution you would have to make a hard business decision or scrap the project. The stakes were high”

“The scale of our core printing business allows us to make a refined tool at a cost that is cheap. This is the first time the world has a reliable way to dispense at the picoliter level”

Mr Dody is saying they saw the need and gap in the industry for this type of machine. They did everything to create a device that would be profitable and valuable to medicine and printing industries alike.

The HP inkjet Officejet devices are magnificent and additionally knowing they’ll contribute to latest developments in medicine is simply brilliant. The HP inkjet printers together with Epson Workforce Pro printers have been hailed as laserjet killers.(Read more on HP Officejet inkjet to challenge laserjet printers).

HP and Samsung Mobile App

As we all well know, mobile apps and mobile website users have been increasing ever since smartphones have been released. This increased usage of mobile smartphones has caused the inevitable change the way corporations such as HP and Samsung approach smartphone industry.

Samsung who are competing with Apple, has joined together with the giant in the printing industry HP, in an attempt to conquer the smartphone printing apps. They will face some stiff competition from other printing apps such as PrintCentral and PrintnShare which have been already in the business for a while, mostly featured on Apple iPhone devices. However, such great combination as Samsung and HP, should bring unavoidable attention and success depending on the apps performance and customer satisfaction.

Obviously, the smartphones are not as smart just yet and cannot offer all in one printing solution and that is where the HP printers come in. Once you take a picture and decide you want to print it, all you have to do is click the “print” button and the photo or document will print by the HP printer wirelessly on a local network or through HP wireless direct. The app will come as standard and will feature in the new Samsung Galaxy S4. If you are an owner of Samsung S3 do not get disappointed, as you will be able to get hold of the app by upgrading the phone’s software.

What Printers will the App work on?

The app will work on 200 different inkjet and laser printer models. The best part of it is that it will include photo gallery, browser and e-mail, and even MS Office, so you can print anything you wish, from almost anywhere you desire with just a few clicks. It is an easy and convenient new way to handle your printing jobs. Considering that this new app will soon embed in Samsung phones and you will not have to worry about installing drivers or setting it up, this might well be, the next best printing app.

Senior Vice President of HP’s Inkjet and Printing Solutions Stephen Nigro has commented:

“Customers continue to look for ways to print from their smartphones and tablets. This partnership with Samsung is the latest example of how HP is making it easy to print what you want from wherever you want.”

Cheap Hp Toner and Samsung Toner

I’d find it difficult to choose which smartphone is currently the best because new smartphones are releasing every few months. I certainly have no doubt who is currently the best at providing cheapest Samsung toner cartridgecheapest Hp ink, cheap HP toner cartridges and even cheaper compatible HP toner cartridges, and compatible Samsung toner Cartridges. For outstanding customer service and low prices for your Hp and Samsung inks and toners come to Inkntoner.

If, you own one of the following printers, you might be in for a pleasant surprise, when you find out how much cheaper the budget and premium toner cartridges actually are.

But that is not all if you choose to buy the HP 05X High Capacity Black Cartridge 3-Pack you save even more with original costing £325.37 and Budget only £57.36 your savings would add up to gigantic £268!!! You could actually go on holiday for that type of money, just by choosing the budget toner cartridge instead of the original.

HP Laserjet P4014 Printer, HP Laserjet P4014DN Printer, HP Laserjet P4014N Printer, HP Laserjet P4015DN Printer, HP Laserjet P4015N Printer, HP Laserjet P4015TN Printer, HP Laserjet P4015X Printer, HP Laserjet P4015XM Printer, HP Laserjet P4510 Printer, HP Laserjet P4515N Printer, HP Laserjet P4515TN Printer, HP Laserjet P4515X Printer, HP Laserjet P4515XM Printer.

We hope you learned about savings and HP Toners in today’s Blog Post and we hope to see you next week!

InknTonerUK Website Improvements

Here at InknTonerUK we always strive to keep ink cartridge and toner cartridge prices to bare minimum and improve our overall customer service whenever possible. That is why, we have introduced new website improvements. The new feature gives our customers wider choice when buying toner cartridges. Previously Ink’n’TonerUK website offered 2 choices, Compatible Toner Cartridges and Original Toner Cartridges, but now our customers have to make a choice out of 3 options, as additional option has been added, called Budget Compatible and the “Compatible Cartridge” has been changed to “Premium Compatible”. This feature is more difficult to implement, than you might think and it is not feasible with every website. Fortunately, our website is designed in a way that, makes this change possible. Now InknTonerUK.co.uk is one of very few, if not the only site that offers Budget Compatible, Premium Compatible and Original Cartridge for the same printer.

For example, if you would select HP Laserjet P4515N printer and look for high capacity black HP 64 toner cartridge. This is what you would be presented with.

As you can see, the Budget Cartridge price is much cheaper. It can actually be even up to 4 or 5 times cheaper, than the Original.

The new feature gives you options, but how do you know which one is the right for you? Well, if you buy toner cartridges from us often, then you might already have noticed the following buttons on the website which explain Budget Refill Cartridge, Premium Compatible Cartridge and Original Compatible Cartridge.

However, to make sure every customer knows what’s best for them, they need to know as much information as possible about the budget, premium and original cartridges. Below, Budget Cartridges, Premium Cartridges and Original Cartridges are explained in more detail.

Budget Compatible

Choosing Budget compatible cartridges, means you will pay rock bottom price for the cartridges. It is advised to purchase budget compatible, when you print a tremendous amount of prints daily and the printing quality is not a priority. Disadvantage of budget compatibles is that it’s non-recyclable and uses cheaper ink, however print quality is still relatively high.

Premium Compatible

Premium compatible option is probably best value for money to choose. It’s cheaper than originals but quality is much better than the budgets. However, it’s still as good as the original.

Original Cartridge

Original cartridge is made by the same company as the printer and guarantees 100% satisfactory results. It is recommended, if you are a bit fussy about print quality and don’t mind spending a little extra.

Mars – Wide Format Printing

Featured

Printing from where? The title doesn’t make sense surely! Oh yes – it does my friends. While we go about our day to day business, NASA is determined to investigate the Martian climate, geology, role of water and planetary habitability. Kris Capraro a computer systems engineer for the Image Processing Laboratory at the National Aeronautics has been working for 27 years to bring space images into spotlight and wide format printing is helping him to achieve that. Printing from Mars is possible (?).

Introducing the Curiosity Rover

Curiosity rover (pictured below) is about the size of an average car. It was launched aboard MSL spacecraft from Cape Canaveral Air force station on 26 of November 2011 and it took 8 months to travel 350,000,000 miles (563,000,000 km) before it successfully landed on Aeolis Palus in Gale Crater on Mars.

Capraro who took some pictures of the Curiosity Rover before it was launched said “When I took those pictures, I was astounded at how complicated the sky crane actually was,” he stated “Of course, the rover is also extremely complicated, but the lander just had bundles and bundles of wire harness. It was just unbelievable piece of machinery, but it worked.”

Wide Format Prints

Wide format imaging assisted the landing of Curiosity at Gale Crater as it is not easy to visualise something that is larger, than a computer screen. Capraro puts together left-to-right view large prints to produce big panoramas making it easier for people to visualise it. He uses HP DesignJet Z6100 to do his wide format prints from Mars.

Apart from HP, Epson and Canon also manufacture high quality large format printers. In January 2012 Canon Image PROGRAF 8300s has won the BERTL’s ‘Best’ 44inch Graphics Arts Large Format Printer award. While Canon iPF8300 and Canon Glacier were used to print an exhibition of Olympic gold medallists.

Wide format printers are usually used in the industry to print banners, posters and general signage, but the type of wide format printing Capraro is producing with HP DesignJet Z6100 has to be admired and should be appreciated by all of us.

At Ink’n’TonerUK we provide a large range of wide format ink cartridges and take care of all your printing needs. So, if you are looking for cartridges look no further. At Ink’nTonerUK we provide highest quality products for the lowest prices.

Printer TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

What Is It?

TCO estimates the total cost of ownership of something for the duration of its life, in this case it’s printers. Users may be surprised when they see the TCO of some printers is actually quite high, maybe a lot higher than what they thought it might be. Typically the TCO for a printer is estimated to be a three year period but some modern printers can have up to five years of operational use.

TCO is definitely something you should be considering when buying any printer. It takes into account its running costs and gives you an accurate figure which reflects the cost-efficiency of your printing. Printer TCO also takes into account the limits of a printers monthly due cycle which is the recommended maximum usage for that printer per month.

There are companies out there who don’t want you to figure out what we’re going to tell you because if you did, you wouldn’t buy their printer and ink cartridges in the first place. Luckily for you inkntoneruk are here to give you a helping hand in making an informed choice when it comes to keeping the cost of your printing down.

Let us use this simple TCO mono laser (black and white) printer example to illustrate the importance of considering TCO and of factoring in the hidden running costs.

TCO A4 Laser Printer Example

Usage: 500 Pages per month (1 Paper Ream) over a 3 year period

Example 1HP LaserJet P1005

  • Retails For: £84
  • Toner cartridge cost: £650 (over 36 months)
  • TCO £734

Example 2: Kyocera FS-2020D

  • Retails For: £295
  • Toner cartridge cost: £127.50 (over 36 months)
  • TCO £422.5

You can see, as it is almost always the rule of thumb with printers, the more you spend on buying your printer the cheaper your printer cartridges will be for it. Customers looking for a quick, cheap fix to their printing needs will quickly release it was a costly error when the time comes to replace their cartridges.

It’s worth pointing out that one Kyocera toner cartridge for the FS-2020D will last two years with a 500 page per month usage, while one HP P1005 toner cartridge will last three months! A massive improvement in efficiency all round from Kyocera not to mention to benefits to be had for the environment by curbing landfill waste and resources used in manufacturing and distribution.

How To Calculate Printer TCO

Its easy to calculate TCO for any printer you currently use or are considering purchasing, just add the following costs up:

(a) Purchase cost of the printer

(b) Cost of the replacement ink or toner cartridges

(c) Number of cartridges used (average ink cartridge usage is 20 per annum)

The resulting figure will be the TCO, voilà!

Note:

You should include any other consumables which may need replacing during a three year printing cycle when calculating your TCO. i.e. print heads, waste toner cartridges, fuser units and drum units.

How A HP Toner Cartridge Works

Before we get started on the inner workings of an HP toner cartridge lets clarify what toner is. As most of us know, toner is the powder substance which laser printers and photocopiers use to create the image of your page onto paper. In its earliest form it was simply called carbon powder but was later changed to toner when carbon was mixed with a polymer to improve print quality.

Right with that out of the way, how does an HP toner cartridge work then?

To start off with, the innards of an HP toner cartridge are housed in a rigid plastic housing which sometimes uses graphite for strengthening. Inside the toner cartridge there are also many different components used as laser printing is quite a technical process.

Toner cartridge designs vary but generally the following components are found within one.

Toner Hopper

This is a small container which is built into the casing of an HP toner cartridge. The job of the toner hopper is to house and store the toner formulation which is used for printing. It’s also noteworthy that the bigger the toner hopper, the more printing the toner cartridge can produce.

Toner Cartridge Roller

The roller sits on the outside of the toner cartridge and can usually be seen on the bottom of the cartridge. Its job is to transfer toner to a component called the drum unit. It is actually the drum unit which creates the image of your page and uses the toner to print with.

Toner cartridge rollers are made of metal and can sometimes be called developers. They vary in their method of application of toner to the roller. Some use magnetic toner which has magnetite in it others use different methods of particle attraction.

Doctor Blade

The doctor blade attaches to the toner cartridges roller. Its job is to ensure even distribution of toner formulation onto the HP’s toner cartridge roller.

Wiper Blade

The wiper blade sits close to the toner cartridge roller and doctor blade. Its job it to wipe off any residual toner left over by the drum unit from the page. Additionally, the wiper blade remains in constant contact with the drum unit.

Waste Toner Collection Unit

This unit is where the left over toner from the wiper blade is stored. These units can be sold individually but are sometimes combined into the body of an HP toner cartridge.

Toner Cartridge Seal

The seal is the removable protecting strip which prevents toner from spilling out of the HP toner cartridge during transit.

What about the drum unit?

Depending on your printer, drum units are either combined into one unit with the HP toner cartridge or sold separately. Some manufactures call these combined units imaging units.

As we have already said, the drum unit or photo conductor unit creates the image of your page to be printed. Whether it is sold separately or combined into one printing unit the principle or fundamentals of it remain the same.

There are two main components in drum units called a primary charge roller and organic photo conductor unit. They are complicated units which use statically charged negative electricity amongst other things to create the image of your page. They use this static electricity to attract toner particles onto the page which is then applied by the organic photo conductor unit. This unit is a multi-film layered aluminium drum which has been manufactured to be perfectly cylindrical. The quality of an HP toner cartridges printing is directly affected by the cylindrical precision by which the photoconductor units have been manufactured.
